What is the Velocity-Opticomm Transition?
The Telstra Velocity network was purchased by Uniti Group in December 2020. Uniti Group will soon be transitioning the Velocity network into their Opticomm network. All households in the Velocity network will need to submit an upgrade order with an Opticomm provider.

Everything you need to know about the Velocity-Opticomm transition.

The Telstra Velocity network was purchased by Uniti Group in December 2020. Uniti Group will soon be transitioning the Velocity network into their Opticomm network. All households in the Velocity network will need to submit an upgrade order with an Opticomm provider, such as iPrimus.

Households connected to the Velocity Network will be eligible.

1) Check your transition window

Check when your address will be upgraded here.

2) Submit an order

Submit your order via the iPrimus website or by calling 1300 152 961

3) We’ll organise the upgrade

iPrimus will coordinate your upgrade with Opticomm and complete your order during your transition window.

This will depend on the location of your existing internet connection box.

If the connection box is located inside your property, then no appointment is required, and you will be able to access all available plans.

If the connection box is located outside your property, then an appointment will be required to upgrade the connection box so that you can access all available plans. iPrimus can manage this upgrade process for you. In the meantime, you will still be able to connect with iPrimus, however the available plans will be limited to Standard and Standard Plus plans. Please call us on  1300 152 961 and we’ll get you started.

Some properties on the Velocity network have connection boxes located on the outside of the property. These connection boxes are limited to 50Mbps plans (Standard Plus). An appointment will be required to upgrade the connection box so that you can access all available plans.

This upgrade is at no cost to you and iPrimus can manage this upgrade process for you. In the meantime, you will still be able to connect with iPrimus on our Standard or Standard Plus plans. Please call us on  1300 152 961 and we’ll get you started.
