Things you need to know about our mobile plans

Yes! Your phone will work with a Dodo SIM as long as it’s unlocked, supports 4G or 5G, and has the latest software updates installed.

Our plans offer VoLTE and WiFi calling and are powered by the Optus network, so you’ll get the same great coverage & service. See the full coverage map here.

Yes, transferring your number to iPrimus is quick and easy. Simply follow the instructions on your SIM pack when activating.

*Transfers are usually completed within 4 hours but can take up to 2 business days from some networks.*

No, once you use your data allowance plus eligible banked data, your speed will slow to 256Kbps. Eligible plans can purchase add-on packs through Account.iPrimus.

International call credits to selected countries are included in your plan. Refer to Critical Information Summary for included countries and the International Call Rate Page for rates to other locations.

You can stay connected in over 100 international destinations without the hassle of getting a new SIM card or phone number with our $5/5GB Daily Roaming Pack. It depends on your device - some need a software update, older ones may need replacing.

What’s the issue?
Some Samsung phones don’t switch to the Vodafone network when Optus and Telstra are both unavailable. This means they cannot call Emergency Services (000 or 112) in rare situations.

Does this affect all phones?
No. Only certain Samsung models are impacted. Check the full list on the Samsung website.

Why is this important?
By law, all phones must be able to make emergency calls when your main network isn’t working. If your phone doesn’t meet this requirement, it will be blocked from the Optus network between 24 December 2025 and 14 January 2026.

How will I know if my phone is impacted?
If your device is affected, we’ll contact you by SMS or email. Even if you haven’t heard from us, we recommend checking your device on the Samsung website.

Can this be fixed?

Software update needed: Update your phone to the latest software immediately.
Device replacement: Older models (usually 7+ years old) must be replaced.

How do I update my Samsung device?

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Software update (or System updates).
  3. Tap Download and install.
  4. Repeat until your phone says “Your software is up to date.”
    Tip: Enable automatic updates for future updates.

    What happens if I don’t act?
    Your phone will be blocked from the Optus network. You won’t be able to make or receive calls (including emergency calls) or contact iPrimus for support. Wi-Fi calling and SMS will also stop working.

Why does this happen?
Some devices don’t handle network changes correctly due to software or age. This can prevent emergency calls when networks are down.

What is iPrimus doing?
We are working with Optus and Samsung to keep customers safe and ensure devices meet emergency call requirements.
