WebFilter is powered by N2H2 iFilter. iFilter uses a categorized list of Web site addresses to block inappropriate content. A team of over 150 people at N2H2 continuously update the blocking list as new Web sites appear on the Internet.
Every Web site is checked by an N2H2 team-member to make sure that the site is correctly categorized. After a site has been listed as inappropriate, Primus WebFilter is automatically updated to block the new Web sites.
WebFilter is a free service provided by Primus, to configure this service please visit our customer support area.
iFilter is listed in Australian Internet Industry Association Code of Practice, and endorsed by the Australian Broadcasting Authority.
Filtering Policy
N2H2's advanced filtering solution enables customers to choose, access and manage the type and level of online information that is most appropriate and relevant to their needs and goals. N2H2's filtering enables organizations to effectively manage Internet access - reducing legal liability, increasing employee productivity and conserving network bandwidth.
We use a variety of techniques to manage our industry-leading filtering database. To find sites to review, N2H2 uses a sophisticated research process to continuously comb the Internet. This process identifies thousands of suspect sites every day, helping N2H2 find new sites to categorize and discover changes to existing ones. After we perform this daily search, our Review Team carefully analyzes and catalogs each site in accordance with the N2H2 Filtering Philosophy.
Another mechanism we use is feedback from our customers. Our URL Checker allows customers to see for themselves how a particular URL has been categorized. Anyone can submit a request to N2H2's Review Editors asking for further analysis on a particular URL. This feedback helps N2H2 refine its list, involves our customers in the filtering process and helps organizations customize their own block list.
