Overview
Primus Accella Hosted Phone System (HPS) is a business grade hosted communications solution. In essence a hosted solution means all the hardware is housed and managed by Primus providing a single integrated phone system for all your offices.
In traditional telephony the phone system is the epicentre of call functionality. With Accella HPS the "intelligence", previously housed in the phone system, is now on the network. All call delivery is now handled by a distributed and replicated platform inside the Primus Network. The features of a PABX, Private Phone Network and Messaging System can now be presented at multiple sites. Unified Communications (UC) features like voicemail to email, call forwarding, automatic call distribution, remote office, fax to email are now accessible on every handset, at every site.
Soft-switching also replaces traditional voice delivery - ISDN and PSTN - with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), converting voice into information (data packets). This data, transmitted over the Primus' tier-1 national IP network by Accella SIP trunks, is managed by the network.

Accella is a pay-per-user solution, so no capital expenditure is required and removes the need to purchase an expensive PABX.
Through cloud computing, phone features like call forwarding, the receptionist function, call history, voicemail and others are available on any phone. Simple web management tools allow full user control, giving System Administrators access to phones system features like hunt groups and call pick-up. Where previously third party system maintainers were required to make changes, Accella HPS puts you in control, which means you can make Accella HPS do as much or as little as you like.
Groups can be setup with common call features, like Line Hunt or Call Pick-Up. This adds a new dimension of flexibility; because you now have the ability to make changes to functions and processes as desired, immediately.
Individual users can also program their preferred call features to suite themselves using the Accella Assistant software plug-in. Control never before available enables end-users to choose how they want to communicate, at any particular time and place. An important feature for unifying communications to improve staff productivity.
All traffic is delivered over a Private IP network offering business grade connectivity that doesn't touch the Internet, making it 100% secure.
