Environmental Sustainability

Primus Australia recognises that a healthy environment is the basis for a sustainable global economy and essential for the well-being of our stakeholders.

Primus is committed to reducing its environmental footprint and to taking positive steps to becoming a sustainable company. We understand that our customers are also interested in forming partnerships with companies that are equally aware of their responsibility to future generations.

In 2010, Primus made a positive move to reducing our carbon footprint by relocating our head office to premises which are better equipped to deliver environmental efficiencies. In 2011 we will introduce a number of changes in our office environment to continue ‘greening’ of our corporate offices.

In June 2011 Primus became a signatory to the CitySwitch program, which is Australia’s leading tenant energy efficiency program. In partnership with CitySwitch, Primus looks to undertake various activities to monitor and reduce its energy use.

Community

Primus is actively involved in the community through charitable programs and sponsorships, supporting a range of charities throughout the year. We have a committee established which identifies a charity for particular engagement and fund raising activities.

Charities

In August 2011, Primus entered into a partnership with Whitelion as its Communications Partner.

Whitelion is a not-for-profit organisation supporting young people who are involved with, or at risk of involvement with, the Youth Justice System or Out of Home or Leaving Care services.

Sponsorships

Primus Telecom’s sponsorship program focuses on building long-term relationships in the community by supporting a select number of events and activities that amplify Primus Telecom’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategies.

We’re very pleased with the role the program plays in actively supporting the arts, sports, community activities and business programs. We believe that through our sponsorship program we can play a role to help further strengthen Australia’s economic, cultural, social and sporting foundations.

Community programs

Primus Telecom encourages its employees to become involved in community activities and through our committee we work closely with community organisations to provide support, expertise, and skills.
