Changing Wireless (WiFi) settings on a Linksys router
Router login details:
Use this guide to setup, or change Wireless (WiFi) settings on your Linksys router.
You can also use this guide to confirm your wireless network is password protected.
Connect your computer to the router via an Ethernet (LAN / Network) cable.
Open up a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Safari.
Enter 192.168.1.1 into the address bar, and press enter:
A login screen will appear, use the following details:
Click OK, and log in.
This will bring up the Cisco Linksys router configuration screen.
Click on ‘Wireless’ up the top:
This brings up the wireless settings for the router:
(if selected to Wi-Fi Protected Setup, select Manual)
The display name of the network is listed under Network Name (SSID) – this is the publicly broadcast name of the network.
Change this to your desired name, and click ‘save settings’
To change the wireless password and security, click on ‘Wireless Security’ in the top menu
Here are your wireless security settings.
iPrimus recommends using WPA / WP2 Mixed Mode security.
The ‘Passphrase’ is the wireless password on your network, change this to a password you know, at least 8 characters long, and click Save Settings.
You have now setup the Wireless on your Linksys router.
The new network should be visible, and you can connect with your new password.
