Greenfield Sites

iPrimus has partnered with NBN Co to provide Fibre to the Home services in Greenfield sites across Australia. Greenfield sites are new housing developments that have been created without the old copper based networks. NBN and other Fibre to the Home providers are building the networks in these areas.

iPrimus is one of the first Service Providers on the National Broadband Network, and we're working closely with NBN Co on the 'First Release' trial phase of this exciting project.

The First Release Sites

These five locations were selected by NBN Co because they represent the diverse situations they will encounter during the network rollout. The sites offer significant variety in terms of geography, housing type and density, infrastructure and other local factors.

- An area of Armidale, in the New England Tablelands of NSW.

- Part of the suburb of Brunswick in Melbourne.

- The communities of Minnamurra and Kiama Downs, south of Wollongong.

- Parts of the western suburbs of Aitkenvale and Mundingburra in Townsville.

- The rural town of Willunga in South Australia.

The First Release Trial

National Broadband Network services in the First Release sites are not yet available for general sale. Unlike the Tasmanian trial this is only available for existing Primus Customers.

- These sites were chosen by NBN Co because it represents a situation likely to be encountered many times during the national rollout

- In terms of broadband and telephone services delivered via this infrastructure, iPrimus is currently offering theoretical speeds of up to 100mbps

Current Status

iPrimus is currently provisioning services for a limited number of existing customers in the First Release areas, on a trial basis, iPrimus will contact customers who are able to sign up.

Trial Customers have been selected by iPrimus & NBN Co, based on the specific area they are currently residing in. At this stage we are not removing any copper services and all trial plans are being offered on a 0 month contract and with a limited basis only. We have put together an exciting offer for these customers, which let them try out very fast broadband speeds, with a huge data allowance!
