iPrimus News
You might not know… (hint it’s the NBN)
You may have heard about the National Broadband Network (NBN) over the last few months and wondered what all the fuss was about? iPrimus, one of the pioneer service providers signed up to offer ultra-fast fibre-to-the-home services, currently has a number of customers already connected and using the service in Tasmania. We're eagerly awaiting the rollout across mainland Australia so we can start delivering these services to our customers and provide some of the fastest internet connections available.
What is the NBN?
The NBN is a new fibre to the home network to replace the traditional phone lines almost everyone has, with Fibre-Optic technology. Fibre-Optics allows much more information to travel between computers, much faster than the old technology. It will also bring the products of the future to you providing a new technology base for services to improve over the coming years.
Whats happening?
The Network is being progressively rolled out across the country. The first trial areas were in Tasmania, the next will be in selected areas all around Australia. Be assured if you are in these areas we will be contacting you to let you know when the NBN rolls-out to your home, so you can take up the fantastic offers and products we will be offering on the new network!
How can I change to an NBN connection?
The team here at iPrimus have been busy behind the scenes, making our systems and networks. We are ready to provide customers with services over the NBN so that when you decide to change to the new technology, we will make it as smooth as possible to transfer over.
Customer News
There may be better plans for you!
How do you decide if you’re getting a good broadband deal? Data. Price. Service. Speed. It’s the right mix of these four things that customers think make up good value. We’ve come up with a scenario based on some of the great advantages our customers are getting from ADSL2+...
You’re a sports fanatic studying to be an Aussie Rules scout and you rely on online sport videos for research. Your current 1500k speed is ok but you want to see if you can get a faster speed, and if so, how it compares against your current plan. So you call one of our friendly Customer Service consultants and are pleasantly surprised. You upgraded your plan and within four working days you receive...
- Four times your current speed with ADSL2+
- You triple your current data allowance!
- And all for the same price you’re paying now!
You’re now enjoying super fast ADSL2+ speed, a 40GB data allowance and viewing your online sport videos at your leisure!
Ok you may not be a sports fanatic and this is just one example but we have customers each day benefiting from our great plans.
Are you on the right plan? Simply have a chat with our customer service team and you could be enjoying the benefits of fast broadband with a bigger data allowance.

Customer Service Central
We’re cutting the wait times so you can speak to real people, faster!
The iPrimus team are committed to customer service. Over the last 24 months we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make sure our customer service is accessible, that we are quick to answer the phone and deliver the service that you expect.
Not only are we committed to customer service, but we’re also keeping jobs in Australia with our 100% Australian based call centre. We are improving our employee training programs to ensure we continue to deliver the best customer service we can possibly provide...
Don’t take our word for it though, here’s a comparison of our call wait times in 2008 and 2010:
| 2008 average | 2010 average | Better by | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer Service (Billing & General) |
288 sec | 38 sec | 4.10 min |
| Provisioning (Moves & new connections) |
324 sec | 61 sec | 4.23 min |
| Tech support & faults | 362 sec | 239 sec | 2.03 min |
These improvements are great for our customers, but we’re not stopping there. We think we can do better and your feedback on how we can further improve our customer service is important.
We’ve also expanded the number of ways you can contact iPrimus with our new:
