iPrimus launches broadband monitoring iPhone® and Android® App
Offers customers the chance to win 1 GB extra free broadband each month*
Melbourne, 13 July 2011: iPrimus has launched the iPrimus Help Centre mobile app for both the iPhone® and Android® operating systems, enabling customers to keep a close eye on their fixed broadband usage, while allowing customers to pit their gaming skills against iPrimus to win a 1GB data top-up if they have exceeded their monthly data allowance.
According to Andrew Sims, Primus Telecom’s General Manager of Marketing and Products, up to ten percent of iPrimus customers are regularly ‘shaped’ for reaching their broadband data allowance.
“We expect the easy-to-use app will be a big help for families, particularly those with teenagers who need large download allowances or indeed anyone who uses a lot of data. Keeping track of your broadband use is the key to ensuring that you aren’t inconvenienced by shaped broadband speeds.”
“The clever app is a unique blend of practicality and fun. We asked our customers on Facebook® and Twitter® what they wanted in the new app and the usage tracker was top of the list, but we also knew that they didn’t want to be ‘shaped’ at the end of a busy month, so we developed a fun game to help them out if they went over their agreed quota,” said Mr Sims.
The ‘iPrimus Help Centre’ also offers a proactive ‘Help’ button that allows the customer to request a call back from our Australian-based call centre.
But this app is more than just an innovative ‘help’ function, it offers customers a chance to win an additional 1GB of data* if they have been shaped for the month - they just need to beat iPrimus in the in-built arcade game.
“Arcade games are classic,” continued Sims. “The beauty is that everyone can play and you don’t have to be a gaming expert to enjoy it. Even if you don’t win the first time, you can keep playing until you do.”
The app was developed by digital creative agency Native Digital and is available on iTunes and Android Market.
* Customers are only eligible to receive the extra data credit if they have exhausted their current monthly quota and only entitled to a maximum of 1GB (or 1 data credit) each monthly billing period for fixed broadband only. Any unused portion of the data allowance will expire at the end of the monthly billing period. Credits will be manually applied by iPrimus staff within 2 business days, Customers will incur mobile data usage by downloading the App and by playing the arcade game.
